Capitol Centre Market

Capitol Centre Market is a local shop in Madison, Wisconsin, that has been serving its neighborhood since 1983. The store was originally owned by John and Peg Leemkuil until 2007, when it was sold to Mitch Eveland, a long-time grocer and Madison native.

Between 2007 and 2017, the store underwent many changes to improve its services. In 2017, plans were made to expand the store, and in 2018, the lease for the adjacent Dorn Hardware store was not renewed, providing the necessary space for expansion.

The expansion led to the creation of a new meat cutting room, cooler, and freezer, as well as a new Deli and a larger hot food offering. A new on-site Sushi Kabar was also added, providing fresh sushi to the neighborhood. The store's Produce department grew by 25%, and significant improvements were made to the Dairy, Meat, Frozen, and Grocery departments.

The store has maintained its local charm, with a new decor package highlighting its community pride. Capitol Centre Market offers online shopping with delivery, allowing customers to shop from home and pay the same prices as in-store. The store also provides free delivery for in-store purchases.

The store's infrastructure has been improved with new energy-efficient equipment, and it continues to be a small, friendly, and quirky locally owned store.
