Madison Public Library hosts Teejop & Beyond programs starting October 12

By Local Madison news desk

Madison Public Library will begin hosting the Teejop & Beyond: Celebrating Native Nations program on October 12. The program will feature presenters from different Native tribes leading events throughout October and November.

Program participants can learn about and try hands-on crafts like beading and basket-weaving, as well as sample Indigenous cuisine and hear traditional and personal stories.

Presenters include Kimberly Crowley, Sherman Funmaker, and Jennifer J. Jordan, who will lead events such as paper basketmaking, storytelling and writing workshops, and beaded brooch workshops.

Most events require registration, which opens two weeks prior to the event date, and can be accessed online at madpl.org/teejopandbeyond.
